Luiza Proença is a transdisciplinary curator and writer. She is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at PUC Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with research focused on forms of ecological resistance through collaborative artistic practices, and a member of the *Earth and Us: Education, Research and Citizenship in the Anthropocene *network, responsible for the organisation of the Anthropocene Campus Brazil and Latin America. During 2022, she was a Communal/societal based-work fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Germany and in 2023 at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Poland. Previously she has worked as a curator at a number of projects and institutions, including: 9th Bienal do Mercosul, Porto Alegre/Brazil; 31st Bienal de São Paulo; the Museu de Arte de São Paulo and bauhaus imaginista, HKW, Berlin/Germany. Cologne-based artists and curators have the opportunity to meet Luiza personally, present their own work and receive feedback.

The event is part of a larger endeavor called "Islands of Kinship: A Collective Manual for Sustainable and Inclusive Art Institutions”, in which CCA Temporary Gallery works with six international partner institutions: Jindrich Chalupecky Society (Prague), Latvian Center for Contemporary Art (Riga), Frame Contemporary Art Finland (Helsinki), Julius Koller Society (Bratislava), Faculty of things that can't be learned (Skopje) and Stroom den Haag (The Hague). Islands of Kinship is co-funded by the EU Program Creative Europe.
