TEMPORARY KITCHEN IN MAURITIUSVIERTEL
Building and baking wishes
Thu 19 December, 4—8 p.m.

We cordially invite you to an open baking event in our mobile kitchen. Together we will bake, build, decorate and produce individual cookie molds.

The participatory event is organized by the artists Rafael Andrade-Córdova, Paula Erstmann and Marie Donike, in cooperation with iJula - intersektionales JugendLabor im Veedel, Kunsthaus Kat18 and kaethe:k Kunsthaus.

The artist and author Julius Vapiano will be reading a text he wrote about the Mauritiusveedel and its bakeries starting 6 p.m.

The Temporary Kitchen is a mobile kitchen that was created in the course of the exhibition "Cooking as Performance" and was activated by the event series "Temporary Kitchen in Mauritiusviertel" over the summer months of 2023. The artists Paula Erstmann and Lisa Klosterkötter explored the neighborhood surrounding the Temporary Gallery, the local restaurants, restaurateurs and the people living there and, in cooperation with local initiatives, communities and associations, invited people to cook and eat together in order to get to know each other better, network and exchange ideas in the neighborhood. The mobile kitchen was built by Rafael Andrade-Córdova, who designed it in collaboration with Paula Erstmann, Aneta Rostkowska and Christina Hanich.

The event is free of charge, no registration required.

Further information on the accessibility of the events:

Relaxed atmosphere: The event is designed to be relaxed. This means that movement during the event is welcome. The rooms can be left and re-entered at any time. Drinks and hearty food will be provided. A variety of seating furniture (chairs, beanbags, stools) will be available.
