The Curatorial Unknown is a series of monthly meetings dedicated to curatorial practice initiated by Temporary Gallery. Centre for Contemporary Art in Cologne and prepared in collaboration with a group of curators and institutions from Cologne and the region. The meetings are open to everyone interested in curating.

 

Place: Kunstvereins für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf

During the next meeting the director of Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf, Eva Birkenstock, will discuss the Düsseldorf part of the tripartite show „Maskulinitäten. Eine Kooperation von Bonner Kunstverein, Kölnischem Kunstverein und Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf“. She will give us insights into the making of this collaborative exhibition-, event- and publication project, and unfold some of the curatorial decisions that were important to her while thinking about the possibilities of curating a feminist show about masculinities in Dusseldorf. In preparation of the meeting she suggests to read one oft he following texts:
